LibQUAL+ is a suite of services that can be used to assess and improve library services. The survey, which takes 10-15 minutes to complete, includes 27 questions on users expectations for specific resources, services, and environment; demographic questions, questions about respondents' use of Steen Library, and a box for comments.

General Databases

Academic Search Complete (Ebsco) is a multidisciplinary index giving access to articles in over 8000 journals with many available in full text.

Expanded Academic ASAP (Gale Cengage Learning) is a general database with indexing for journal, magazine and newspaper articles, with many of the articles available full text.

Google Scholar provides a search of scholarly literature across many disciplines and sources, including theses, books, abstracts and articles.

Wilson Select Plus (FirstSearch) is a general database that contains full text articles from popular and scholarly journals and magazines.

LexisNexis Academic provides access to a wide range of news, business, legal, and reference information.

Communications & Mass Media Collection provides current and accurate articles on all aspects of the communication field.

Communication & Mass Media Complete (Ebsco) covers key journals, recent encyclopedias, and handbooks in the area of communications studies and mass media.

Decade Series Focuses on each decade detailing the events, people, art, sports, science, etc. that occurred during that time period in the U.S. and Canada. We have access to the 1950's, 1970's, and 1980's.

General Businessfile ASAP (Gale Cengage Learning) lists articles in business journals and magazines with many available full text.

General Science Collection aims to provide most recent information on scientific developments from over 200 academic and general science-focused journals and magazines.

Global Road Warrior provides comprehensive country data regarding society and culture, business etiquette, travel planning, money and banking, and international trade information. Also demographic information and downloadable maps for all countries are included.

Information Science and Library Issues Collection comprised of content from leading industry journals on topics ranging from information infrastructure to metadata architecture and more.

LitFinder (Gale Cengage Learning) is international in scope, covers all time periods, and contains a wealth of primary literature, including full-text poems and excerpts, as well as short stories, essays, speeches, and plays. To aid understanding, there are basic critical explanations of some literary works.

Newsbank (Access World News) is a full-text newspaper resource consisting of more than 1,800 regional, national, and international newspapers and newswire sources.

Links to "Internet sites with full text, audio and video (streaming) versions of public speeches, sermons, legal proceedings, lectures, debates..." A digital-audio player is required for materials in audio and streaming formats. A free player is available on the site.

Public Speaking Website
