Library Instruction

Our philosophy of Library Instruction & Research Education:
In partnership with teaching faculty, library faculty offer research education to students. Together we can enhance students’ ability to effectively find and evaluate information. Ideally, this will involve course-integrated research education, in partnership with and requested by faculty, that is not just an add-on to the course. In an academic setting, this often translates into articulating desired outcomes together and planning ways to stimulate critical thinking and to promote academic honesty as applied to the research process...particularly library research.

Librarians are committed to giving SFA students the advantage of research skills. If you have any questions or ideas about research education, contact Carol Scamman, Research Education Coordinator, at cscamman@sfasu.edu or 936.468.1710.
