ETRC Funding
The ETRC would not be able to provide access to our material either online or in the Center without the help of various funding agencies. Here is a list of agencies that have generously awarded funds to the ETRC:
-
Institute of Museum and Library services, Connecting to Collections Bookshelf, 2008. Treasured objects and artifacts held by the ETRC will be preserved for future generations with help from the IMLS Connecting to Collections Bookshelf, a core set of conservation books, DVD's, and online resources donated by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), the primary source of federal funding of the nation’s museums and libraries. IMLS and its cooperator, the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH), will award a total of 2,000 free sets of the IMLS Bookshelf by the end of 2008.
-
Nacogdoches Genealogical Society, 2008, Money was donated to digitize and transcribe a collection located in the ETRC

Three lessons plans were created using material from the collection. The lesson plans were aligned with the Texas Education Agency’s Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
- Quilter’s Guild of Dallas, 2004 The Quilting Stories of East Texas (QSET) project was funded by the Quilter's Guild of Dallas in April 2004. The purpose of the project was to find, survey and document quilts in eastern Texas. The project highlights the unique stories behind East Texas quilts.
- Texas Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund (TIF), 2002 -- To make the humanities collections of East Texas available digitally and to combine the expertise of cultural repository professionals with the needs of educators to create a web site designed by 4th and 7th grade Texas history teachers to provide the desired cultural and chronological access to the material that tells the story of the history of eastern Texas.
