This collection was formed by combining items obtained from a variety of sources. The Civil War was fought between Northern and Southern states from 1861 to 1865.
Most of the items in this collection of correspondence, newspaper articles, rosters, orders, war tax receipts, and other papers and documents relating to the Civil War pertain to the Confederacy. There are originals, typed transcriptions, and photocopies in the collection.
