In March 1932 The County Clerk of Nacogdoches placed in the Library approximately sixteen boxes full of folded documents and several volumes of county records. Although the documents were transferred to more suitable acidfree boxes, the arrangement in which the documents were received in the Library are essentially unchanged.
The records are classified in the inventory as either Civil Cases or Criminal Cases because the original boxes were so labeled. However, various other kinds of documents were found in the boxes, including land office papers, naturalization papers, tax inventories, county surveyor's bonds and estray papers.
