Welcome to your Library! It is a most exciting time for Steen Library.
I am honored to serve as the next director of Ralph W. Steen Library. The transition into this new era is paved with a trusted and proud reputation that I choose to build upon. Steen Library has always been in the forefront with new and enterprising services to support the academic mission. In this new era, we will continue to adhere to the fundamental value of excellence in academic support and service to the university. The library faculty and staff are devoted to creating a welcoming and supportive environment that is attentive to the diverse needs of our students, faculty, staff, and the community at large.
This fall, the Library will welcome the Office of Instructional Technology (OIT), the Teaching Excellence Center (TEC), Academic Advising and Student Success into Steen Library. These departments will be located on the second floor of Steen Library. This is an excellent opportunity to enrich and to expand the collaborative and cohesive environment that will benefit the campus community.
The Library staff is very excited to unveil our new library website. The website was designed by the talented and creative Library Systems Department. While the library is open 106 hours each week during regular semesters, the website gives today’s users what they want----access at ANYTIME. Today, whether you choose to visit in person or virtually, you will find that Steen Library accommodates the library user as a “place” and as a “space”.
Please take the time to get to know the individuals who make up the Library & AARC faculty and staff. The Information Desk is staffed during all open hours to assist with questions ranging from the general to the esoteric. Seek out the research librarians for research and instructional assistance. Visit with the Academic Assistance Resource Center, better known as the AARC, for tutoring. Throughout the library, there is qualified staff to assist you with your needs. So I encourage you to utilize the expertise of our excellent faculty and staff to help you discover and access the wealth of library resources and services that are here at Steen just for you!
